Smarter Climbing
Join us in Magic Wood, the granite boulder paradise of the Swiss Alps, for a focused performance retreat built for climbers who want to climb better, longer, and with more purpose. For many climbers around this level, progress starts to plateau, and effort alone no longer leads to better climbing. As grades and progression begin to take up more space, movement quality, longevity, joy, and awareness of the places we climb in can start to fade into the background. Better climbing is not the same as tick-chasing or grade-chasing. We do not believe climbing has to peak early or start falling apart at thirty-five. This retreat offers a serious performance container rooted in refined movement, performance maturity, and sustainable progression, with direct access to pro insight and local knowledge woven into the experience. This is not a recreational weekend, but a focused outdoor retreat for climbers who want real impact. WHAT THIS RETREAT FOCUSES ON Climbing is growing fast, but culture, awareness, and responsibility are not growing at the same pace. This retreat creates a performance container for climbers who want to progress with more maturity, longevity, and purpose. Smarter Climbing Better climbing is not the same as harder climbing. This retreat focuses on refined movement, better decision-making, and quality-based progression over pure effort, tick-chasing, or grade-chasing. Performance & Longevity Progression only matters if it lasts. This retreat focuses on building stronger, more sustainable climbers through a better balance of load, recovery, movement quality, and long-term performance, not through the idea that climbing should peak early and fall apart by mid-age. Yoga & Movement Movement and yoga sessions support injury prevention, healthy preparation, and the kind of complementary work that helps climbers train and perform more sustainably on and off the rock. Climb with Red Bull Athlete Climbing alongside Giuliano Cameroni offers direct access to high-level insight, coaching, and feedback. It creates a rare opportunity to learn through proximity, observation, and real-time decision-making on the rock. Local Guiding Local guiding helps climbers use limited time on rock more intelligently. The focus is on efficient sector choice, finding your projects, smarter use of energy, finding hidden gems, and seeing the boulders through the eyes of a local — not only consuming the area, but understanding it. Performance Maturity This retreat also works with the mental patterns that often shape progression at this level: plateau loops, grade fixation, outcome pressure, and ego-driven habits. The goal is to develop a more mature relationship with performance, where self-worth and climbing outcome are no longer the same thing. Responsibility & Ethics Serious climbing does not stand above place, people, or context. Participants are encouraged to engage with outdoor areas respectfully, understanding that access is earned through conduct and that long-term participation depends on cultural maturity as much as technical ability. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Participants spend several days immersed in the climbing environment of Magic Wood, one of the most iconic gneiss bouldering areas in the Alps. Expect two full climbing days on real rock, with a small group of serious climbers and a structure designed to make the most of your time outside. The retreat combines focused coaching, quality time on the boulders, and direct exposure to higher-level climbing in a real outdoor setting. A local guiding session at the start of the retreat helps the group move through Magic Wood more efficiently, discover key sectors, find your projects and hidden gems, and gain practical insight into how to navigate the area with more clarity and less wasted time. It is also ideal for climbers who want to extend their stay and begin their trip with a clear foundation. Morning yoga and movement sessions support preparation, recovery, and injury prevention, helping the body stay ready for the demands of a performance-focused weekend. Meals together keep the retreat grounded, with a clear focus on nutrition and recovery. Short moments throughout the retreat also create space for reflection, practical local insight, and current topics that matter in climbing today, from how we move through areas to how we relate to the sport, the places we climb, and the culture around it. The full program is shared with participants after booking, allowing the retreat to move with the group, the weather, and the climbing conditions.
